Gethin Liddington

Gethin Liddington, studied classical trumpet at Welsh college of music and drama with Terry Lax from 1989 to 1993 and since graduating has played professionally, mainly in the jazz and commercial world.

Enjoying all styles of jazz, Gethin has been fortunate to have played with many and varied ensembles including:-

• Tippets "TAPESTRY" ( lead tpt)
• Paul Dunmall octet
• The Pasadena Roof Orchestra
• Back to Basie Orchestra
• Steve Waterman Jazz Orchestra
• Steve Waterman TRPTS ( 4 trumpets plus rhythm section )
• Paula Gardiners 6 Ultrasound ( lead tpt )

Performances with these groups have included  many television and radio broadcasts, tours of Britain and Europe, and many festivals including Brecon, Bath, Marlborough, Ruvo (Italy) , Le Mans (France) ,Switzerland ,Germany and Denmark .

Gethin currently leads several jazz groups including "Groovin" high and "The Gethin Liddington Quintet " as well as working extensively in the commercial/ pop / session field.

Gethin is currently professor of Jazz Trumpet at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Bath Spa University.
