MUSIC IN TIME
This programme is designed for secondary schools and is necessarily more open to variation. The time of the title refers both to musical meter and rhythm and historical context.
We look at the instruments in more depth, finding out how each had a different
historical origin and how this is represented in the repertoire.
We examine the role of rhythm in music and invite audience participation through various clapping and conducting games.
We invite critical listening with questions touching on aesthetics and value judgements in music.
The programme is relevant to key stages 3 & 4.
